Lest anyone fret, the soon-to-be new owners of Tosca Café in North Beach don’t plan to tamper with the landmark bar’s décor once they take over. But New York restaurateur Ken Friedman tells Grub Street San Francisco that they’ll gut the kitchen and start over, and that chef April Bloomfield plans an Italian-focused menu appropriate to the setting. Tosca will close for the remodel likely later this month, with an eye toward a summer re-opening.
