Wild turkeys that attack—KQED hyperventilates a bit

Thursday, March 7, 2013

Wild turkeys in the Oakland hills apparently pecked someone’s car door after the motorist honked at them. “Minutes passed with the driver paralyzed until finally an intrepid resident emerged to shoo the big birds away,” says the KQED News Fix blog. “It was just another day in the Bay Area, where turkeys are growing steadily more bold.” But wait, there’s more. Some folks in Albany want the City Council to do something about 30 wild birds roaming the streets there.

Frightened yet? The blog item’s hed: “What To Do If You Are Attacked By a Wild Turkey: A Bay Area Problem (With Videos).” As for the videos, one (above) is from Humboldt County; the other from New Hampshire.
