The veteran newsman, 56, who has been city editor at the paper for the last 12 years, takes over for recently departed longtime editor Doug Bunnell who, as the IJ announcement says, left “to pursue a business opportunity.”
Aside: Kudos to the folks who write in-house personnel stories for MediaNews properties such as the IJ. It’s a tough task in that they have a lot to simplify. That’s considering that the IJ’s parent company is Digital First Media, of which MediaNews Group is a subsidiary, of which Bay Area News Group is a subsidiary, and not to mention that the IJ is published as an edition of the Mercury News. Wonder if there’s a flow chart for new hires.
