Chron sees silver lining in 49ers’ departure—but not a Super Bowl 40 miles away

Tuesday, May 28, 2013

Gotta keep it real. The 2016 Super Bowl will be played at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, despite what an item that appeared on the Chronicle’s Bay Area section front proclaimed Sunday (sorry, couldn’t find a link). Its headline: “The silver lining of the 49ers’ departure”:

How’s that for irony?

San Francisco will get a Super Bowl only after its team leaves in 2014.

Above (pictured), the NFL Network graphics guy (or gal) joins in the silliness.
