The thing about fourth-quarter meltdowns is that, when it’s a series-clinching game and you hold on and win, nobody remembers the ugliness. The Warriors, who could barely in-bound the ball while almost spewing a late 18-point lead, held on tonight to beat Denver 92-88 and take the playoff series 4-2. To the delight of the sellout crowd at Oracle Arena, they even got an 87-second performance from David Lee, whom doctors cleared to play (albeit in pain) despite suffering a torn hip flexor a dozen days ago.
But the guy who saved the Warriors was Andrew Bogut, with 10 points, 21 rebounds and four blocked shots, and who afterward credited being injected with a pain killer before the game that helped him turn in his best performance of the year. Mercury News; Chronicle
