Short of answers on how long and how much money it will take to remedy the engineering fiasco of the new Bay Bridge eastern span, Caltrans has announced . . . it’s assigning a top deputy to “focus his full attention” on the mess for the foreseeable future. Imagine that. Chronicle writes about it.
