Daniel Ellsberg on the NSA revelations: ‘turnkey away from tyranny’

Nixon-era Pentagon Papers leaker and free speech elder statesman Daniel Ellsberg, 82, addressing the firestorm over the National Security Agency phone records revelations, tells a panel convened in Berkeley that we’re “a turnkey away from tyranny.” East Bay Express reports on his remarks, including this quote:

“It could become a police state almost overnight. Our constitutional protections have been waved away by our public figures.”
