Speak out in Sacramento, get chewed out by the boys

Thursday, June 27, 2013

You may recall state Sen. Leland Yee (D-San Francisco) creating some headlines last week when he spoke out against the back-door move in the Legislature to water down the California Public Records Act. Specifically, he spoke to a Mercury News reporter for this article about the legislative shenanigans. Now the Mercury News’ Josh Richman blogs that Lee was given a tongue-lashing by state Senate Pro Tem Darrell Steinberg afterward. Steinberg, budget committee chair Mark Leno of San Francisco and others were reportedly miffed that Lee hung them out to dry. Steinberg denies it. Lee isn’t talking. But other Sacto insiders tell Richman it happened. Political Blogger
