Just how far will some people go to avoid San Francisco Zoo’s sky-high $15 entry fee for out-of-towners (residents pay $12)? Police arrested a 24-year-old Los Angeles man Sunday who jumped a fence and eluded security by, among other things, leaping into the African Savanna exhibit with giraffes, zebras and ostriches, before climbing over another fence back into the public viewing area. They caught him near the mandrills. A zoo staffer said the man wasn’t trying to cause any harm, but was apparently just trying to avoid the entry fee. Mercury News
