Friday, July 19, 2013

In this undated photo made available Monday, July 15, 2013, Ye Mengyuan poses for photos with other classmates in the classroom in Jiangshan city in eastern China's Zhejiang province. Ye Mengyuan, 16, was a champion athlete who excelled at literature, playing the piano, singing and public speaking. Her given name means "wish come true" in Chinese. Mengyuan was one of three victims of the July 6 crash of Asiana Airlines Flight 214 in San Francisco. The Chronicle’s Jaxon Van Derbeken is citing two sources close to the investigation as saying that after surviving the crash, young Ye Meng Yuan, a champion athlete and outstanding student from China’s Zhejiang province, died from blunt force trauma as a result of being hit by a vehicle.

San Mateo County coroner Robert Foucrault has scheduled a press conference today.
