The skirmish over a proposed mega-expansion of the Squaw Valley ski resort appears to be getting serious. An activist group trying to thwart growth plans says it has more than enough signatures needed to start the process of turning the resort community, which has about 600 residents, into California’s newest town. If they succeed, it would be called Olympic Valley. That’s because a Fresno County community has already laid claim to Squaw Valley, the Sac Bee says.
