Governor steps in, BART talks go into extra innings

The trains are running, likely for at least another week, after Gov. Jerry Brown, at the request of management, stepped in last night to avert a strike poised to start at 12:01 a.m. He appointed a three-member board of inquiry that will report back on contract talks within 7 days, a move to buy more time for negotiations that clearly weren’t/aren’t going anywhere so far.
