Now it’s ‘punishment’ for SFFD firefighter for using helmet cam at SFO?

Wednesday, August 21, 2013

San Francisco Fire Chief Joanne Hayes-White just can’t seem to get out of the way of her own bumbling over the department’s handling of its mistakes in the Asiana Flight 214 crash aftermath. Now it appears the firefighter who turned over his helmet cam to assist in the investigation of 16-year-old Ye Meng Yuan’s death after she was run over and killed by an SFFD truck is facing possible punishment.

And for what? His breaking a rule about using such cameras within a “departmental facility.” That’s apparently what the fire chief is calling the runway tarmac at SFO. Chronicle
