More instability at the top at NPR, which has had six bosses in eight years. President and CEO Gary Knell is leaving to assume the same titles at the National Geographic Society, to the astonishment of NPR staffers, it’s being reported this morning. So why? He was believed to be earning in the ballpark of $500,000 a year at NPR. The man he’s replacing at NatGeo makes in the neighborhood of $1.4 million. NPR
