Oakland’s real top cop (and we don’t mean interim police chief Sean Whent) issues a report letting the department have it for allowing vandalism to get out of hand downtown last month following George Zimmerman’s acquittal in Trayvon Martin’s death. Federally-appointed police overseer Thomas Frazier faulted police intelligence for having only a handful of officers available on the weekend of the verdict to respond to “the easily anticipated events that occurred.” Oakland Tribune writes about it.
