Sordid allegations against Silicon Valley developer kept hush-hush for months

Monday, August 5, 2013

There’s a huge subplot in the story of 74-year-old Silicon Valley real estate mogul Clyde Berg’s allegedly outfitting his 37-year-old pregnant wife with a spiked dog collar and leash, chaining her at gunpoint to a bed for two days and sexually assaulting her with a golf putter. The Mercury News reports on it this morning. But are you ready for this? The incident allegedly happened last fall and has gone unpublicized until now. In the meantime, Santa Clara County DA Jeff Rosen’s office has whittled down the list of felonies that the millionaire developer faces, although Berg still is in enough trouble that he could be facing 15 years to life if convicted. That’s assuming the case makes it to trial. Mercury News
