You knew this would happen. When you’re about to open a state health insurance exchange call center in Concord and half the jobs turn out to be part-time offering no health benefits, there are going to be repercussions. About 200 people were hired (out of 7,000 who applied) and a lot of them were angry after Contra Costa County, which competed for and won the call center, informed them that half the jobs were without health benefits. And now? The center opens in October and Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show” is sniffing around, the Contra Costa Times says.
